The Confidence Starts Here Campaign
SunTrust was a local bank based out of Atlanta, Georgia that had dreams of making it to the big leagues. They eventually did, merging with BB&T to become Truist, but before that, we were their partners in crime (metaphorically speaking). SunTrust no longer exists, but our work for them lives on! Financial insecurity affects every Americans at some point, but especially those who live paycheck to paycheck. Having financial confidence means the freedom to live the life you want. This message that we developed for SunTrust carried through their different areas of their business, such as Private Wealth, Mortgage, and B2B Wholesale.
When the Atlanta Falcon’s were in the 2020 Super Bowl, SunTrust took over the city. As the official sponsor of the game, they wanted to tie their purpose statement with football in a strong but engaging way. This standalone campaign ran for a short time, but impacted every football fan in the area. We produced events, social media tie-ins, and giveaways, in addition to a standard physical and digital media buys.

The Work
Our task was simple: develop SunTrust into a brand (so not simple at all). They had a logo consisting of two colors and pages upon pages of banking lingo, but not much else. We gave SunTrust it’s branding and more, from expanding their color palette to developing the iconic ‘chevron’ that, in time, would become more recognizable than their logo. Each line of business required a different approach, from targeting high earners with Private Wealth’s sleek black & white ads, to couples in search of a mortgage with Wholesale’s soft, aspirational ads, SunTrust ran the gamut when it came to variety. SunTrust’s biggest success would eventually be the merger, but each of these award winning deliveries paved the way for that win.
